About

Hi, I’m Summer!

My husband says I have a gift of knowing just what to do and say with our boys.  I say it is something inherit in all of us, if we just stop and listen to our hearts and think beyond today.

My passion is being the best mom I can be everyday and not settling for 2nd best.  Watching my kids thrive because of who they are is the biggest reward, along with seeing them smile and hearing their laughs.

I see our lives as whole, verses in boxes.  Everything is related.  The food we eat influences how we think and what we think influences our food choices.  I have lived and experienced food as medicine.  I have also learned to trust my intuition as a mother and find parenting fun.  Yes, fun!

In addition to this blog, I have published a children’s book i love me!, launched my business Nourishing Souls,  and enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to become a certified health coach.

As a sociologist, mother and Suzuki violin teacher I have an incredible window into child developement that is so unique!  I am able to see children’s strengths and their struggles through the medium of music.

The Goal of this blog is to provide you with resources to strengthen your family in health.  To help you see life as an interconnected circle.  To help you simplify your life and find what is important to you and your family.  You’ll find life reflections and a recipe or two.   All recipes will be wheat-free and contain no processed sugars, preservatives or artificial food dyes.

Wishing you a Life Full of Joy!

Warm Regards,

Summer Joy
